International Roundtable Discussion Was Held at KSUEL
On October 9, Khabarovsk State University of Economics and Law hosted a roundtable "Joint Projects of Russian and Japanese Companies and Universities for Specialists' Training. Problems and Prospects" in the framework of the Year of Japanese-Russian Interregional and Twinning Exchanges.
Lecturers, employees and students of Russian and Japanese universities, companies, local and central authorities participated in the roundtable discussion. Maxim Tarasov, Minister of investment development and entrepreneurship of Khabarovsk Krai, opened the meeting: "Russia and Japan are neighboring States. The stability of relations between our countries depends not only on the situation in the NEA macroregion, but also on the global arena as a whole. The basis for successful interaction between our companies is not only an understanding of the economic conditions of the business, but also national cultural characteristics, features of the management processes of partners, product requirements and other conditions. Mutual educational exchanges between universities of our countries and internships at enterprises serve as a conductor of such knowledge."
This event was also attended by the Chairman of the legislative Duma of Khabarovsk Krai, Doctor of Economics - Irina Zikunova. She noted that the economic development of the Russian Far East is becoming extremely important today due to the concentration of the potential of the world economy in the Asia-Pacific Region: "The highest forms of international cooperation, such as foreign trade, direct investment, development of joint entrepreneurship, joint ventures, imply a deep familiarity with the organizational and financial provisions of national legislative systems, imply a serious awareness of the natural resource, technological potential of the parties and strategic plans of economic development of countries. Educational programs implemented in the union of Russia and Japan should help in solving this problem."
KSUEL held a roundtable discussion jointly with Hokkaido University. It also became a meeting of participants in the specialized sections like "Small and Medium-sized Business Relations" and "Promoting Industrial Diversification", as well as participants in other sections whose activities are related to entrepreneurship and industrial diversification, as well as their external partners (JETRO, ROTOBO, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, Hokkaido Prefectural Administration, Economic Research Institute of Northeast Asia (ERINA), private companies).
Participants were able to exchange information about joint projects of universities and companies, as well as to discuss the problems they face in their implementation, and ways to solve them.

The 75th Anniversary of the Great Victory: Presentations in English
As part of the events dedicated to the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory, students prepared presentations in English at Khabarovsk state University of Economics and Law. They were need to choose one of the topics: "Heroes of the Great Patriotic War", "My Family during the Great Patriotic War" and "The Price of Victory".
"In fact, I often thought about the cost of our country's victory in the Great Patriotic War. Back in school, we wrote a lot of essays on this topic, read various works of art and watched movies. And when I had the opportunity to do this kind of work, the question of choosing the topic of the presentation was resolved very quickly. I was really inspired and did the presentation despite the lack of time, not thinking about how to finish it as soon as possible. I wanted to make it beautiful, informative and interesting to watch," - Victoria Vasilyeva, a first - year student of the Management and Technology School, shared her impressions about the work.
We would like to thank students for their interest and wish them success in their future work.
